How to rock hijab & hats

So why am I writing about hats in the middle of summer, honest answer...no idea, I saw a few pictures of women wearing hijab with a hat. I always used to think wearing a hat on top of your hijab looked really funny and not really trendy at all, but after seeing a couple of pictures I realised that the only time hijab looks good with a hat is if you know how to rock it. It requires a particular types of hats combined with particular types of hijab sooo here are the hijab hat looks that rock and others that don't look so good.

Here are a few pictures of hijab with hats, which in my opinion don't work so well.

I love some of her styles but this is one I personally don't think looks so good, a woolly round hat with a thick scarf around the neck doesn't really go well together. I will show you another picture below in which Sr Hana does rock a hijab/hat look really well.
I don't know why I don't like this style maybe it just looks like there is too much going on and the hat doesn't sit properly with the hijab.
I think this hat just looks hideous lol, nothing to do with the hijab, just probably not the right choice of hat.
Graduation hat doesn't look good like this because the hijab is too puffy and big.....check out kavacki corture's solution to hijab & graduation hats below.

So those were the hijabi hat don'ts but here are some stunning hijab hat looks.....why do you think these ones actually work together?

 Very sherlock holmes, no?
This looks so elegant and classy, I guess for something like this you've got to have the right face shape as well.
Sr Hana again, this time absolutely rocking hijab with a fur hat.
Love this fun, playful hijab with a black hat, they go so well together.
Super cool, if you can pull it off.
This one is really pretty, the colour of the hijab is similar to the hat and is thin so it doesn't look really bulky.

Woolly hat? Wear one that covers your ears and then wear a plain pashmina style hijab around your neck, just like Sr Yasmin from Yaz the Spaz.

And the solution to graduation hats....? ComfiJab! Check out this video by kavacki corture [Warning: Music, please mute your sound if you don't agree to listening to music]...One of these is definitely something to invest in.

I personally wouldn't wear a hat over my hijab (don't think I could rock it like some of these women do and it's not really my style) but for those of you who loved hats before hijab or would love to try it out then do so but remember these rules:

-Wear a thin scarf that wont be too bulky around your neck
-Wear a hat that goes with your hijab, make sure it fits on your head as well
-For easy hat and go styles wear it with a comfijab

Obviously the more extravagent hijab with hat looks wont be suitable to wear out and about on your average day, as usual make sure you look at your self in the mirror before you leave and really be honest with yourself, will your outfit draw attention in a way its not supposed to? The best judge of your outfit is your own conscience, but there's nothing wrong to wear a hat to some kind of themed (women only) party.

  6. I wear hats to protect from Australian sun - most days UV 12+. How to wear scarf and hat, especially in winter, in everyday life is an issue for me..... I am an old woman now, with much experience of skin cancer. It is an everyday issue, not just "dressing up" for some event.
